Crossing Canada and Beyond
A Road Trip Adventure

This blog documents our journey from our hometown of Pefferlaw, Ontario to the Yukon and the Arctic Sea in the Northwest Territories. We started our trip on August 2, 2024 and returned on August 30, 2024

Since relocating from Germany to Canada, we’ve embarked on countless road trips, discovering the vast and diverse landscapes of North America. Our adventures began with a thrilling drive from Toronto to Vancouver Island, taking us through the stunning Western Canadian provinces and back via the Northwest states of the U.S. Along the way, we camped in iconic national and provincial parks, including Banff, Jasper, Yellowstone, and Mount Rushmore, each offering unforgettable experiences and deepening our love for the great outdoors.
Our wanderlust didn’t stop there. Another memorable journey led us to the rugged beauty of Newfoundland, traversing the Eastern Canadian provinces and the charming Northeast states of the U.S. We’ve also explored the sun-soaked landscapes of the Southern U.S., from California’s coastline to the deserts of Nevada and Arizona. These trips have only fueled our passion for the open road, making every adventure a new chapter in our travel story.
Now, we are setting out on a new adventure, one that will take us into the heart of the Canadian Territories for the first time. Our journey begins in our hometown of Pefferlaw, Ontario, a serene spot beside Lake Simcoe. From there, we’ll head northwest, crossing the vast expanses of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia.
Our destination: the remote Arctic Sea at Tuktoyaktuk in the Northwest Territories, where the road meets the icy waters.
But our journey doesn’t end there. On the way back, we’ll venture into Alaska, exploring its untamed wilderness before re-entering British Columbia. Our route will then take us through Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, and back across the Canadian border into Ontario.
This road trip is not just a journey across miles but a quest to explore the untouched beauty and diverse cultures of the North. As we chronicle our experiences, we invite you to join us on this adventure—offering your suggestions, sharing your stories, and perhaps finding inspiration for your own travels. This is more than a road trip; it’s a celebration of the simple life in nature, the thrill of adventure, and the joy of discovering new places. Welcome to our journey across the Northern frontier!
